About Chillack 2 Echoes of Serenity

A blog about my second album, “Chillack 2, Echoes of Serenity”, by Rick Janus aka… Chillack

“Welcome to a world of tranquility! Chillack is back again guiding you through introspective moments and vibrant landscapes. From the gentle rustling “Shadows of the Bloom” to the rhythmic driving pulses of “Drive to the City” all the way to “Romantichill”, each selection offers a unique exploration of tranquility and self reflection. These immersive atmospheres invite you to discover a deeper connection with the world around you.”

For Chillack 2, Echoes of Serenity, I composed all the music, and I created the arrangements using keyboards and drum programming. Additionally, I played guitar on “Ready or Not” as well as hand percussion on “Speed of Light”, “Portal to Renewal”, “Kalimba Maze”, and “Royal Dolphins”. David Blonski assisted in writing the lyrics to “Drive to the City”, “Ready or Not”, and “What Goes Around”.

How this album came about?

For this second album, I wanted to elevate my production style by increasing the amount of lush, inner harmony textures alongside some exotic elements of world fusion. David Blonski contributed some soulful sax in addition to the flute featured in Chillack 1.  We took the time to refine the melodies and production value for this album. While Chillack 1 was inspired by nature experienced in the daytime, Chillack 2 emphasizes the feelings I experience as the sun goes down, on a voyage into the evening.

This album represents a transition along a beautifully sunlit afternoon into the early evening filled with sights and sounds of the coast and what the city has to offer. I believe in the transformative power of music and its ability to renew the spirit. You’ll experience moments of joy, romance, and marvel at the wonders of nature.
